5 People Arrested For Selling Replica Watches

In the Macon Georgia Telegraph a recent story details the arrest of five people for trafficking in replica goods. These goods included replica Rolex watches. In the article a claim is made that over $260 Billion of replica goods are purchased across the country. Perhaps the various companies such as Rolex and Panerai should get together and realize the tremendous profit that is being made off of their brands by other people.

Are Genuine Brands Finally Afraid of Replica Watches

NZZ Online has an article on Watchmakers Sound The Alarm on Fake Watches. They mention a loss of over $600 million each year. The floodgates may already be too open to be closed. I predict that 2007 will have the most accurate and most difficult to spot replica watches than any previous year. Volume may be down but the damage to the genuine watch brands will increase as the differences between the fake watches and the genuine watches continue to decrease.
